Frequently Asked Questions

What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation in which the conscious, critical mind is quieted and the subconscious mind can be accessed. This allows access to stored memories, emotions and behaviours. It is also a state in which your mind is highly responsive to suggestions and directions.

There are 4 types of hypnosis:

  • Natural hypnosis. This is a natural state that occurs in our daily lives. Zoning out is an example of natural hypnosis. It is also everything we do on autopilot.
  • Self-hypnosis. It’s something you can do for yourself, by guiding yourself into a deep relaxation and visualisation state, guiding your mind towards a specific goal. It's a powerful tool that can help you change your habits, manage pain, and improve sleep.
  • Stage hypnosis. As the name suggests, it’s used to entertain an audience. It uses strong suggestions and wowing effects to impress the crowds.
  • Hypnotherapy. Used for therapeutic reasons to help people make powerful changes in their lives through positive suggestions.

How is RTT® different from hypnosis?

RTT®, unlike traditional hypnotherapy, addresses the root cause of an issue by finding out how, when and where beliefs about a certain issue were formed. Our beliefs are made in early childhood, so most people navigate their romantic relationships based on ideas about love they create when they were little, helpless and dependent on their caregivers for survival. Powerful and long lasting transformation happens when those beliefs are reviewed and new, empowering ones are installed.

Moreover, RTT® combines hypnosis with other therapeutic modalities, like regression,  neuro linguistic programming (NLP), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).

After the RTT® session, the client receives a bespoke recording to listen to for 21-30 days consecutively to strengthen the updated changes.

Will you take over my mind in the RTT® session?

You will be in control of what is happening throughout our hypnosis session! You will be able to open your eyes and come out of hypnosis at any moment you wish. Hypnosis is about being relaxed and suggestible.

Your conscious mind is quietened by being in a deeply relaxed state. In this way, we’re able to tap into the part of your mind where your thoughts, beliefs, sensations, emotions, memory and patterns of behaviours are stored.

Will I see changes straight after the RTT® session?

Change happens in three ways:

  • Immediate - this is when clients see and feel something shifting in the hypnosis session and they feel the benefits straight away.
  • Bit by bit - this is when clients see changes in their thoughts, choices and behaviours slowly, day by day they become better.
  • Retroactive - this is when despite feeling like nothing has shifted even weeks after the hypnosis, others begin to notice sublte changes in you. Only when you look back, do you realise just how much you've transformed.

Change can also happen in a combination of these three. There is no way to tell how you will change, for each one of us the process is different. One thing is for certain - change does happen.

Do I have to listen to the recording?

Yes, listening to your bespoke transformational recording for at least 21 days consecutively following your RTT® session is highly advisable if you want to see permanent change and transformation in your life.

Imagine your mind is like a garden. Prior to the hypnosis, the garden was unattended to and unloved for many years, so it was full of overgrown weeds. Within the hypnosis session, we rooted out the weeds and planted new flower seeds. Those seeds have the potential to grow into beautiful flowers, but they are still vulnerable and need watering and care to get stronger and grow.

That is why listening to your bespoke recording will allow those new patterns of thought, belief and behaviour to grow and flourish.
